Let's assume you already have several song made and you want to sell them. There are a lot of sites that will help you sell the songs but it's kind of hard to make your way to top this way. It's hard to compete with the big sharks in the industries when you start out low.
What is better to do is to make a website of the band. There you can post your songs and offer them for selling. It's not hard to made and requires quite low investment. Once you made out your fans it will only require to come up with new music once in a while. There are a lot of singer that live out of their own website, making exclusive music for their fans. You can also make contests and give awesome personalized prizes like your autograph on the album or mentioning the winner in the next song.
You can also sell beats, which is much easier to do but it requires a lot more skill than anything.
